Understanding the Disclosure Sheet

The list below shows gives an explanation of headings used in the Disclosure sheet

Well location section

  • Country: Country in which the well is located
  • Area: The county, district, municipality or other local geographic description depending on country

Hydraulic Fracturing (also known as fracking) Fluid Products Section

  • Product Trade Names in Fracturing Fluid (if applicable): List of products used, by trade name
  • Product Purpose in Well: List of purposes for which the products are used
  • Supplier(s): suppliers of products

Well description section

  • Government approval references: Government approvals such as permits and consents are listed here.
  • Operator of well: Name of operator
  • Name of well: Name of well
  • Well registration number: Registration number of well with the appropriate regulator
  • Fracturing completion date: Date at which hydraulic fracturing was completed
  • Well depth (TVD metres): Total vertical depth of well, in meters
  • Top perf depth:  Shallowest MDm (Measured Depth) and TVDm (True Vertical Depth) perforation hole created in the wellbore for the intention of hydraulic fracture treatment
  • Bottom perf depth:  Deepest MDm (Measured Depth) and TVDm (True Vertical Depth) perforation hole created in the wellbore for the intention of hydraulic fracture treatment

Hydraulic Fracturing (also known as fracking) Fluid Data section

Water

  • Water volume (m3): Amount of water used, in cubic meters. Water utilised may be any combination of recycled water, produced water or fresh water
  • Max mass % of total hydraulic fracturing fluid: Maximum mass percentage of water as a proportion of the total mass of hydraulic fracturing fluid used

Proppant

  • Proppant (kilograms): Amount of proppant used, in kilograms
  • Max mass % of total hydraulic fracturing fluid: Maximum mass percentage of proppant as a proportion of the total mass of hydraulic fracturing fluid used
  • max (mass%) water + proppant: Sum of maximum mass percent of water and proppant

Hydraulic fracturing (also known as fracking) fluid constituents section

  • Chemical substance in fracturing fluid: The list of chemical substances in fracturing fluid includes both Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and non-MSDS substances. All chemical additive substance data is provided by suppliers and is consistent with Material Safety Data Sheets where applicable
  • Chemical Abstract Service Number (CAS Number): List of Chemical Abstract Service Numbers (CAS Number). See www.echa.europa.eu to find ECHA numbers. If CAS number is blank the substance is subject to intellectual property protection in the public sphere but the appropriate regulator has received full information on the substance.
  • Maximum chemical substance mass % in hydraulic fracturing fluid: List of maximum mass percentage of each chemical additive in the hydraulic fracturing fluid. Because maximum percentages are shown, total of water, proppant and chemical additive components may be greater than 100%
